Each of Wayne State's sports will be hosting an alumni event as part of the 90 year (1918-2008) celebration of WSU athletics.

The first alumni event will be men's basketball on Thursday, January 24. The Warrior basketball squads face Gannon (women at 5:30 pm, men at 7:30 pm). The top 10 men's basketball all-time players will also be announced. The second event will be women's basketball on Saturday, February 16. The Warrior basketball teams face Grand Valley (women at 1 pm, men at 3 pm). The current WSU basketball squad will be wearing pink as part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) initiative in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The top 10 women's all-time players will also be announced.

Women's hockey will have its alumni event on Friday, February 22 at City Sports Center Arena as the Warriors look to "drain the lake" against the Mercyhurst Lakers. WSU is attempting to have a record-breaking crowd for a Warrior home game that evening.

The WSU baseball alumni event will be on Saturday, April 19 as the Warriors entertain Grand Valley in a twinbill starting at 1 p.m. More details to follow.

The cross country squads anniversary celebration event will be on Wednesday, August 13, 2008.

The second annual WSU Tennis Reunion is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 10 at the recently renovated WSU Varsity Tennis Courts.

Football will be hosting an event in conjunction with its annual Tartar/Warrior Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 13.

The WSU softball alumni game is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Varsity Diamond.

The volleyball alumni event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27 following the Warrior football game and during the volleyball match vs. Hillsdale. It is also Tartar/Warrior Day at WSU Athletics.

The golf team's event will be on Monday, September 29th at Edgewood Country Club.

The swimming and diving alumni meet is slated for Friday, October 10 at the Matthaei Pool.

The final event to close out 2008 will feature the fencing squads on Sunday, Dec. 7 as part of the Istvan Danosi/Michigan Open at the Matthaei.
