The sports medicine department within the Wayne State University Department of Athletics has partnered with the department of nutrition and food science to host dietetic interns throughout the year. Erika Schwan, our first intern will be at the Matthaei for the next five weeks. Erika will be available to counsel WSU student-athletes about proper nutrition for their well-being and to excel in athletics.

Other duties that she will be involved in:

- one-on-one nutrition counseling with student-athletes

- team nutrition counseling

- nutrition workshops for the athletic department

- enhancing our current team meal plans

- providing athletic nutrition education via poster/handouts
