Paul Harker was named Wayne State's Strength and Conditioning coach in June 2006 after serving the previous two years as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Michigan State.
Harker, who is both CSCS certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as SCCC certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, directly oversees all of Wayne State's 16 varsity sports.
A three-year letterwinner for the Spartans, Harker was voted to both the coaches and media honorable mention All-Big Ten teams in 2003 while serving as one of four team captains. In addition, he earned Academic All-Big Ten and CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors after starting all 13 games as a senior. He also received the Biggie Munn Award as Most Inspirational.
An Academic All-Big Ten selection as a junior in 2002, he received MSU's Iron Man Award for his work in the weight room.
A 2003 MSU graduate with a bachelor's degree in communications, he received his master's degree in kinesiology in 2006.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Harker resides in the Dearborn area with his wife Erin, and their dog, Lucy.
