Laura Maxwell joined the Wayne State University sports medicine staff as an athletic training intern in January 2008.

The native of Hartland will earn her bachelor's degree from Central Michigan this May in athletic training/sports medicine.

She has served as a student athletic trainer with football, women's soccer, and the men's and women's track and field teams at CMU. Maxwell has also worked at the CMU Injury Care Center, Midland Dow High School and the Chip Facility.

She has been involved with the Student Athletic Trainers Organization (SATO) along with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

Maxwell has earned Dean's List honors every year at CMU as well as the Michigan Merit Award and Board of Trustees Scholarship.
