Who is eligible to tryout?
Full time students in good standing as well as high school seniors and transfer students who have been admitted to Wayne State University.

When are tryouts?
Tryouts will take place in April for the following academic year.

How many freshmen do you take?
There is no limit to the number of freshmen on the team. The best cheerleaders are chosen at tryouts to represent the university.

Do you have multiple squads?
No. We offer one squad for both males and females.

Do females have to fly?
No. Opportunities exist for females to base and spot as well as fly.

Does the squad compete?
Maybe! It depends on the level of dedication and hard work from each squad member.

Are scholarships available?
Yes, scholarships are available for those who fulfill the requirements.

How much of a time commitment should I expect?
There are generally 2-3 practices per week along with games and campus/community events. Should we attend competition, practices will be added as needed. Cheerleading is a large time commitment; it is extremely difficult for those who wish to participate in numerous extra-curricular activities.

What are the requirements?
We are looking for talented cheerleaders who will represent the squad and the university in a positive manner. More specific information can be found under the tryouts link.
