FINDLAY, Ohio - The Warriors (13-24, 11-7 GLIAC) scored a run in the top of the eighth to go ahead, but Findlay (22-15, 11-5 GLIAC) rallied for a pair of runs with two outs in the bottom of the inning to win 3-2 Friday afternoon at Swale Park.
WSU loaded the bases with one out in the top of the first, but failed to score a run. Findlay took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning before a 45 minute rain delay occurred in the fifth.
Following the stoppage, Bob Schmidt (Oxford, Mich.) led off the seventh with a solo home run to force extra innings. The Warriors pulled ahead when Jon Weisman (Woodhaven, Mich.) singled to start the eighth, then scored on an error by UF's third baseman.
WSU starter Dan Barnes (Grand Ledge, Mich.) had two outs in Findlay's half of the eighth before Kyle Blessing doubled-in the tying run. The Oilers scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch, the same way WSU defeated Saginaw Valley just a day earlier.
Barnes gave up nine hits in 7.2 innings. All three runs were earned as he also struck out six.
Schmidt had two of WSU's seven hits, while senior Jason Chapieski (Windsor, Ont.) stretched his career-high hitting streak to 10 games.
The Warriors and Findlay take the field again on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
