UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - A one-hit complete-game performance by freshman Ryan Mosher (Ann Arbor, Mich.) gave the WSU baseball team a 3-0 win in a doubleheader sweep over Saginaw Valley in a battle atop the GLIAC standings. League-leading Wayne State improves its record to 24-10 and 12-3 in the conference while SVSU falls to 26-11, 13-7.

Mosher had a no-hitter through 4.2 innings of work. The Cardinals' lone hit off the right hander was a two-out single to right by Justin Hanning, but Wayne State right fielder Adwin Springer (Toronto, Ont.) threw out Chris Norton at home to save the shutout.

The Warriors got two of their runs in the third inning as Kurt Kieleszewski (Macomb, Mich.) drew a walk in a battle at the plate. After

a sac bunt and stolen base, Kieleszewski scored on an error by Saginaw center fielder on Jason Chapieski's (Windsor, Ont.) fly ball. Chapieski stole second and came home on Frank Jeney's (Windsor, Ont.) RBI single to left.

Another lead-off walk to start the fourth came back to hurt SVSU. Springer watched ball four go by on a full count, and much like the inning before, got to second on a sac bunt and stole third, setting up Kieleszewski for an RBI single to center.

Mosher got the Cardinals to go three-up, three-down in the second, third and fourth and faced just four batters three other innings. Wayne State's defense backed Mosher two double plays including an unassisted DP by first baseman Jon Weisman (Woodhaven, Mich.) in the seventh before Mosher struck out the final batter looking.

In all, Mosher (6-1) struck out four, walked three and hit one batter in his second career shutout and third straight complete game.
