DETROIT - For the second time this week, senior Mat Yenrick (Toledo, Ohio) recorded a three-hit complete-game victory as the lefty led Wayne State past Northwood, 9-2, on Senior Day at WSU Baseball Field Sunday afternoon.

NU (17-29, 7-18 GLIAC) was the first to strike with a run in the first, but Yenrick struck out the third and fourth batters to get out of the inning.

The Warriors (18-31, 16-14 GLIAC) responded with a five-run frame. Senior Jason Chapieski (Windsor, Ont.) led off with a single to right. Then Kevin Kadrofske (Roseville, Mich.) hit a two-out single to center that scored Chapieski to tie the game. Senior Adam Schulz (Southgate, Mich.) had a two-RBI single and Jon Weisman (Woodhaven, Mich.) followed with a two-run homer over the right field wall to put WSU in front 5-1. Weisman's 23rd career home run ties him for third all-time, and puts him just two behind Jason Copeland (1995-98) for the school record.

With one out in the fourth, junior Chris Baroli (Madison Hts., Mich.) took a 2-1 pitch over the wall in left for his first career home run and a 7-1 lead. Baroli came through again in the fifth with a two-out bases-loaded single that drop in shallow right to score Matt Cunningham (Gregory, Mich.) and Kurt Kieleszewski (Macomb, Mich.).

Northwood's second run came in the top of the sixth as Yenrick walked in a run, but he got a ground out to get out of the inning and strand three runners on base. Yenrick struck out five and walked four in the 7.0 innings of work to improve to 3-3.

Baroli, Weisman and Chapieski had two hits apiece for Wayne State.
