ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Wayne State baseball team avoided being shutout for the first time this season, but lost a 4-1 decision at Oakland University in game two of Saturday's non-conference doubleheader. The Warriors did receive good news, however, as they clinched the final spot in the GLIAC Tournament thanks to Mercyhurst's sweep of Findlay.

OU scored a single run in the first, and again in the fifth. The Warriors had the bases loaded with one out in the top of the fifth, but a double play ended the threat.

The Grizzlies (16-29) added two more runs in the sixth before junior Chris Baroli (Madison Hts., Mich.) doubled-in Kurt Kieleszewski (Macomb, Mich.) for WSU's only run of the game.

Baroli had a team-high two hits for the Warriors as Jason Chapieski (Windsor, Ont.) improved his hitting streak to seven games with his single that led off the game.

The Warriors enter the GLIAC Tournament as the No. 4 seed with a 19-33 overall record and a league mark of 17-14. They will travel to top-seeded Grand Valley State on Thursday, May 11 for a first-round match-up.
