ROCHESTER, Mich. - For the second time in three games, the WSU baseball team allowed two runs in the final inning as the Warriors suffered a 4-3 loss at Oakland Sunday afternoon. Redshirt junior Jon Weisman (Woodhaven, Mich.) hit two solo home runs to tie Jason Copeland's (1995-98) school record for career homers (25).

Weisman's first home run came on a full count with two outs in the top of the second to give WSU a 1-0 lead.

The Warriors went up 2-0 in the next inning as Derek Ranck (Clarkston, Mich.) singled through the left single and stole second. He then scored as the following batter, Kevin Kadrofske (Roseville, Mich.), took advantage of a dropped fly ball by the catcher and recorded a base hit up the middle.

The Golden Grizzlies (17-29) got on the board in the third with a run off freshman Anthony Bass (Trenton, Mich.). Bass had a solid five-hit 5.0 inning-outing for WSU.

Weisman led the fourth off with his second homer of the game, and ninth of the year, to give him 25 for his career.

OU made it a 3-2 game in the fifth before scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth off Jon Swartout (Allen Park, Mich.) (1-2).

Senior Jason Chapieski (Windsor, Ont.) collected a pair of hits to increase his hitting streak to eight games. Ranck and Kadrofske also had two hits in the contest.

Also making a mark in the record book was senior Adwin Springer (Toronto, Ont.) who played in his 193rd career game, breaking Bobby Marten's mark.

The Warriors (19-34, 17-14 GLIAC) enter the GLIAC Tournament Thursday as the No. 4 seed. They will take on top-seeded Grand Valley State, who is ranked fourth in the country, at a time to be determined.
