BAY CITY, Mich. - For the first time in his career, Wayne State redshirt junior Jon Weisman (Woodhaven, Mich.) was selected as the GLIAC Baseball Player of the Week on Monday, March 27.

The first baseman hit .500 (9-for-18) in WSU's four-game road sweep of Gannon. Weisman improved his batting average by 39 points and recorded a slugging percentage of .667 as well as accounted for 25 putouts at first base.

Weisman is on a current five-game hitting streak and had three of his team-leading seven multi-hit games vs. the Knights. On Sunday, Weisman had three hits, two runs and two RBI in both contests as WSU outscored Gannon, 25-8, in the two games.

Weisman and the Warriors head to Ypsilanti for a non-conference doubleheader against Eastern Michigan on Tuesday at 3 p.m. (Live Stats)
