Two members of the 2006 Wayne State University baseball team were named to the Rawlings/ABCA North Central Region squad announced today.

Senior shortstop Jason Chapieski (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) earned First Team All-Region accolades and is now a candidate for an "All-American Team" which will be selected on May 29. Chapieski led the squad with 52 starts and was voted to the All-GLIAC First Team for the second year in a row. He hit .353 with 16 stolen bases and 21 RBI while batting leadoff in all but one start.

Redshirt junior first baseman Jon Weisman (Woodhaven, Mich.) was named to the All-Region Second Team. Weisman batted .320 with nine home runs and 40 RBI while starting 51 games (42 at first base, 6 at DH, 3 in LF).
