Many Wayne State University baseball players are playing in summer leagues.
Kevin Kadrofske, Jon Weisman and Joe Taylor are with the Detroit Metro Tigers. Kadrofske has played in just two contests. Taylor has a 2.25 earned-run average in two appearances. Weisman has not played in a game yet this year.
Tim George has 20 at-bats for the Chargers of the The SANDLOTT Wood Bat League in Nashville, Tennessee. Matthew Williams and Jon Swartout are also playing for the Chargers. Williams is batting .269 in 26 at-bats, while Swartout is 3-0 and has not allowed an earned run in over 15 innings pitched with 21 strikeouts.
Chris Baroli is also playing in Tennessee for the Stingers. He is hitting .333 in 27 at-bats.
Andy Claerr is pitching for West Virginia in the Carolina Virginia Collegiate League. John Skaggs is playing for the Catawba Valley Stars in the same conference.
Yuki Minagawa is pitching for the Hawaii Alii's of the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League. Matt Cunningham is a catcher for the same squad, while Chuck Pate is hurling for the Kamuela Paniolos. All of the league's games are played at Aloha Stadium.
Daniel Baird is pitching in the Western Major Baseball League (the premier wood bat collegiate league in Canada) for the Melville Millionaires.
Dane Little is pitching for the Windsor (Ont.) Selects, with Derek Ranck, Ryan Mosher and Scott Martin all competing for Livonia Adray. Anthony Bass is pitching for the North Oakland Yankees.
