Vencent Kirkwood joined the Wayne State University men's basketball staff in 2006-07 as a student manager and is currently the travel manager for both the WSU men's and women's basketball teams.

He is currently attending Wayne State and majoring in communications and public relations after spending a year at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

He was a four-year basketball letterwinner at Berkley High School earning defensive player of the year honors in 2002.

Vencent also played in many other organizations such as AAU, PAL as well as other city leagues. He has coached recreational/youth basketball in Dayton, Southfield and Troy.

Born into a family of athletes with one brother playing at Kalamazoo College as well as a brother playing basketball at Troy High School.

A native of Troy, he is the son of Vernen and Kelli Kirkwood.

Vencent is scheduled to graduate in 2009 and plans to continue his education at Wayne State University earning a master's degree in Sports Administration.
