ALLENDALE, Mich. - Wayne State junior Ethan Banks (Warren, Ohio) made all six three-pointers and set a career-high with 21 points as he led WSU's men's basketball team to its fourth win in a row with a 70-58 victory at GLIAC North-leading Grand Valley State Thursday night. The Warriors are now 9-5, 4-1 in the league while the Lakers fall to 10-4, 4-2.

Warrior senior Morris Hall (Detroit, Mich.) started the scoring with a jumper in the lane and Herb Goliday (Royal Oak Twp., Mich.) got the steal and laid it in for a 4-2 Wayne State lead. WSU increased its lead to 13-4 as Erik Parker (Oak Park, Mich.) and Hall combined to score nine unanswered points.

The Lakers climbed back within five points, but Hall drained a big three-pointer with 9:17 left before the half to put the Warriors back in control until a three by GVSU made it a one-point game with 2:26 remaining.

Darrell Evans (Detroit, Mich.) drove and found an open Banks who nailed a three for a 25-21 WSU advantage with 40.7 ticks left on the clock in the first half. Banks then forced a GVSU turnover and Hall snuck in a layup before the halftime buzzer for a six-point lead.

The Warriors opened up a nine-point lead at the start of the second half as Goliday and Parker teamed to score six points. Goliday then scored four straight points to give WSU a 10-point lead.

WSU moved the ball around the horn from Evans to Hall then to Banks who knocked down another trey. Following a GVSU free throw, Banks sank his third three of the game. A Laker turnover then led to Banks' third straight three and a 49-35 WSU lead.

Wayne State stayed with the hot hand as Banks hit his fifth three-pointer of the game just moments later. Banks hit his sixth three with just over three minutes to play for a 17-point margin.

The Warriors made 19-of-24 foul shots (79.2 percent) in the game and outrebounded the Lakers, 27-23.

Parker and Hall added 15 points for WSU while Goliday chipped in with 13.

Thursday's game was televised live on Comcast Local and will be replayed on Friday at 6:00 am and 4:00 pm as well as noon on Saturday. WSU hosts Ferris State University Saturday at 3:00 pm.
