ASHLAND/FINDLAY GAME STORYLINES

The Wayne State University basketball team will conclude its four-game road trip to start 2007 with contests at Ashland (Thursday) and Findlay (Saturday).

The Warriors have won three straight for the second time this season following road wins at Clarion and Northwood last week.

WSU is currently second in the GLIAC South Division, two games behind division leading Findlay and 1/2 game ahead of Hillsdale and Mercyhurst.

ON THE BENCH

Wayne State's David Greer is in his sixth season at the helm of the Warrior basketball program with an 85-69 mark. His overall seven-year coaching mark stands at 102-81, which includes one season at Tiffin (1986-87).

Roger Lyons has compiled a 218-156 mark in his 14th season at Ashland.

Findlay's Ron Niekamp has a 469-168 record in his 22nd year with the Oilers.

THROUGHOUT THE YEARS

The Warriors won both games last season versus Ashland.

WSU has lost four straight to Findlay since posting a 79-72 win at the Matthaei on Feb. 14, 2005.

IN THE POLLS

The Warriors were selected to finish fourth in the GLIAC South Division in the preseason coaches poll. Ashland was tabbed for second in the GLIAC South Division, while Findlay was picked for first.
