Two WSU Men Earn All-GLIAC Honors

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Two WSU men's basketball players picked up all-league awards, selected by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's head coaches and announced Thursday night at the conference tournament banquet on the campus of Grand Valley State. Senior Herb Goliday (Royal Oak Twp., Mich.) earned First Team South Division All-Conference while junior Kris Krzyminski (Flint, Mich.) was selected to the All-South Second Team.

the team in scoring (14.8), rebounding (6.0) and blocks (16). He shot 52.9 percent from the field and 76.6 percent at the line, and finished his collegiate career with 1,004 points. Goliday, who scored in double figures in 24 of the 25 games, ranked eighth in the conference in scoring, 10th in field goal percentage, 11th in rebounding and 13th in free throw shooting. He also played the fifth most minutes in the GLIAC (34.24).

Krzyminski ranked first in the league in minutes played, second in assists, sixth in free throw percentage and assist/turnover ratio and 10th in scoring. He led WSU in assists (140) and was second in scoring (14.1 ppg), while recording double figures in 22 games.

Senior guard Dustin Pfeifer of the University of Findlay has been selected as the Player of the Year, while Aaron Simpson of Northwood University was chosen as Freshman of the Year and Findlay's Ron Niekamp earned the GLIAC Coach of the Year honors.
