Evanston, Ill. - The Wayne State University men's fencing squad lost all five of its dual meets on Sunday at the Northwestern Duals.
The Warriors lost to Ohio State (24-3), Duke (21-6), Stanford (24-3), UC-San Diego (22-5) and North Carolina (21-6).
In the men's epee, defending national champion Slava Zingerman compiled a 21-3 record in the two days. Joe Fresard won three matches, while WSU had to forfeit three bouts to each opponent since it had only two competitors.
Jakub Gibczynski recorded a 14-10 mark in the sabre, while Patrick Tomlinson had one triumph.
In the men's foil, Brandon Isaac won two bouts, while Michal Brichacek had one victory.
WSU will participate in the Notre Dame Dual meets this Saturday and Sunday.
