Evanston, Ill. - The Wayne State University men's fencing squad compiled a 1-7 mark at the 2005 Northwestern Duals meet held on Nov. 19-20 in Evanston, Ill.
The Warriors went 0-5 the first day with losses to Air Force (21-6), Stanford (23-4), North Carolina (20-7), Cal State-Fullerton (17-8) and UC-San Diego (20-7).
WSU went 1-2 on day two with a victory over Lawrence (14-13), but setbacks to Johns Hopkins (18-9) and Northwestern (16-11).
Marek Petraszek led the Wayne State epee squad with a 20-3 record. WSU's lone competitor in the men's foil was Joe Langdorf, who compiled an 11-12 record. Bobby Smith had a 13-11 mark in men's sabre.
Wayne State's next competition will be Saturday, December 3 when it hosts the Istvan Danosi Michigan Open at the Matthaei Athletic Complex.
