The Wayne State University men's fencing program is ranked 18th nationally in the latest USFCA College Fencing Coaches' Poll which can be found at NCAASports.com.
Harvard is the top team on the men's side and is followed by Ohio State, Penn State, Columbia, Notre Dame, St. John's, Penn, Stanford, Air Force and Princeton round out the top 10. Just ahead of WSU are Rutgers, Duke, Brandeis, New York University, North Carolina, Yale and UC-San Diego. The Warriors are in front of Cal State-Fullerton.
The 2007 NCAA Championship will take place March 22-25 in Madison, N.J. at the William E. and Carol G. Simon Forum and Athletic Center on the campus of Drew University.
Prior to that the Warriors will compete in the Midwest Fencing Conference Championship (March 3-4 at Notre Dame) and the NCAA Midwest Regional (March 10 at Notre Dame). WSU concludes the regular season at the Northwestern Duals on Feb. 24.
