Zingerman Reaches Round of 16 At World University Games

Wayne State University fencer Slava Zingerman, the three-time NCAA Champion in the men's epee, advanced to the round of 16 last Friday at the 2009 University Games being held in Belgrade. He also competed today as part of Israel's men's epee team. (more)

Zingerman Wins Third Consecutive NCAA Title

Wayne State University junior Slava Zingerman (Ashkelon, Israel) became only the second person in NCAA men's epee history to win three consecutive NCAA titles since the NCAA began competition in 1941. Risto Hurme of New York University was the first in 1973-74-75. (more)

Men's Fencing 11th After First Day Of NCAA Championships

The Wayne State University men's fencing team is in 11th place with 23 victories after the first day of the 2009 NCAA Championship at Penn State. WSU junior Slava Zingerman is second in the men's epee with an 11-3 mark (+22 in touches). Harvard's Benji Ungar is first with an 11-3 record (+31 in touches). (more)
