Edinburgh, Ind. - The Wayne State University men's golf team is tied-for-15th out of 19 schools after the first day of the Great Lakes Regional #3 being held at the Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh, Ind.
The University of Indianapolis leads with a 286 as 16 of the 19 squads broke 300. Thirteen of the 19 schools shot in the 290s on the opening day with WSU recording a 299.
Senior Jacob Abramson (St. Clair, Mich.) led the Warriors with a 70, which tied him for third place.
Junior Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) is tied-for-35th with a 74, while classmate Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.) is tied-for-52nd at 75.
Freshman Don Kring (Williamsburg, Mich./Traverse City St. Francis) is tied-for-83rd (80), with senior Chris Hill (Sarnia, Ont./St. Patrick's) placing in a tie-for-89th at 83.
The final round will be played on Saturday at Timbergate.
