Edinburgh, Ind. - The Wayne State University golf team wrapped up the Great Lakes Regional #3 Sunday, firing a second round 310 to finish 17th overall.
The University of Indianapolis won the Regional with a two-day total of 575 (286-289). Grand Valley State University fired identical rounds of 288 (576 total) to finish in second place, with Ferris State rounding out the top three (293-285--578).
Senior Jacob Abramson (St. Clair, Mich.) followed up his first round total of 70 with a second round 73 (143 total) to tie-for-11th. Junior Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) tied-for-47th (74-75--149), while classmate Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.) tied-for-77th (75-81--156). Freshman Don Kring (Williamsburg, Mich./Travers City St. Francis) tied-for-87th and Senior Chris Hill (Sarnia, Ont./St. Patrick's) rounded out the scoring for WSU, placing 92nd (83-83--166).
The golfers return to the links on April, 24th at the Oakland Community College Invitational at Pontiac C.C. in Pontiac, Mich.
