JOPLIN, Mo. - The Wayne State golf team completed a rain-interrupted first round Tuesday morning at the NCAA Division II Super Regionals. The Warriors are tied for seventh place with a team score of 300.
Ferris State is leading the field with 290, and Grand Valley State is a stroke behind in second place. Saginaw Valley State is third (293), while Northern Kentucky and Findlay are tied for fourth (295). Indianapolis is in sixth (299), and Bellarmine (300) matched WSU's first round score for seventh.
Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) posted a one-over par score of 73 in the opening round to tie for 10th place. Brett Hudson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's) and Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child) are each tied for 24th after shooting 75.
Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) is in a tie for 33rd place (77), and Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.) is tied for 41st (79).
