BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Wayne State golf team finished in seventh place at the Ferris State Invitational, posting a total score of 599 (299-300) in the two-day event held at Katke Golf Course.
Grand Valley State (292-282--574) finished five strokes ahead of Ashland (284-295--579) for the victory, while Findlay (289-294--583), Ferris State (291-299--590), Saginaw Valley State (296-298--594), and Northwood (304-293--597) rounded out the top six.
Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) tied for 12th place (72-74--146), Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child) tied for 17th (77-72--149), and Brett Hudson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's) tied for 28th (76-76--152).
Bryan Lynch (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland) and Eric Johnson (Marquette, Mich.) tied for 32nd (75-78--153) and 41st (76-79--155), respectively.
Those not factoring into the scoring included Michael Wouters (Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) who tied for 28th (72-80--152) and Jack Mitroka (Riverview, Mich.) who tied for 65th (79-83--162).
Wayne State will play in the Grand Valley State Invitational tomorrow afternoon.
