BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Wayne State men's golf team found themselves in 11th place after the first day of competition at the Ferris State Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors completed the day with ateam score of 309, 21 strokes behind leader Ferris State.

Junior Nathan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) led the Warriors with a score of 75, tied for 18th place and eight strokes off the lead. Sophomore Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.) is one stroke behind Johnson at 76, placing him in a tie for 28th.

Sophomore Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) is in a tie for 44th place with a score of 78, and redshirt senior Kevin Zeleji (Southgate, Mich./Anderson) shot an 80 to tie for 58th place. Junior Chris Hill (Sarnia, Ont./St. Patrick's) shot an 84, putting him in a tie for 66th.

The Warriors will look to rebound on Sunday, Sept. 18thin the second day of the tournament.
