South Haven, Mich. - The Wayne State men's golf team found itself in a tie for 16th place after the first round of the NCAA Great Lakes Fall Regional on Sunday.  WSU and Northern Michigan each posted a team score of 309, 20 strokes off the lead held by Northern Kentucky (289).

Senior Nathan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) led the way for the Warriors with a 75, putting him in a tie for 32nd place.  Junior Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) shot a 77 to tie for 55th.

Tied for 62nd after day one was junior Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.), who shot a 78.  Senior Jacob Abramson (St. Clair, Mich.) is in a tie for 67th with a score of 79, and senior Chris Hill (Sarnia, Ont./St. Patrick's) is tied for 84th with a score of 81.

The Warriors will finish the tournament at HawksHead on Monday, Sept. 26.
