Canton, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's golf team finished fourth out of 12 schools at its own Motor City Invitational today at Pheasant Run Golf Course in Canton.
The Warriors were led by junior Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron), who tied for second with a one-under-par 71.
Senior Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.) also had a top-10 finish placing in a tie-for-ninth at 73. Classmate Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) shot a 76 to tie for 31st.
Junior Brett Hudson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's) tied-for-35th with a 77, while freshman Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child) was tied-for-40th with a 78.
Playing as individuals for WSU were: Dave Anderson (Sarnia, Ont./St. Clair Secondary), who tied-for-40th at 78; Bryan Lynch (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland), who tied-for-51st at 79; Cory Vandivier (Belleville, Mich.), who was 76th with an 87; and Ben Shunkwiler (Livonia, Mich./Dearborn Crestwood), who tied-for-77th with an 89.
Wayne State will play on Saturday and Sunday at the Saginaw Valley Intercollegiate at Bay Valley.
