BAY CITY, Mich. - The Wayne State golf team took home third place at the Bay Valley Invitational on Saturday in Bay City. They put up a team score of 297, finishing behind Grand Valley State (289) and winner Saginaw Valley State (287).
Senior Nathan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) led the Warriors with an even-par 71 to tie for fifth.
Junior Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) and junior Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.) each tied for 20th place with a score of 75, and senior Chris Hill (Sarnia, Ont./St. Patrick's) tied for 24th a stroke behind (76).
Also participating for Wayne State were freshman Don Kring (Williamsburg, Mich./Traverse City St. Francis) and senior Jacob Abramson (St. Clair, Mich.), who both tied for 38th with a score of 79.
The Warriors will play in the GLIAC Championship beginning Sunday, Oct. 9.
