NORTH EAST, Pa. - The Warrior golf team found itself in ninth place after the first day of competition at the GLIAC Championship on Monday. WSU posted a score of 619, 20 strokes off the lead.
Junior Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) led the team with a score of 148 (72-76), putting him in a tie for sixth place. He now holds the best two 36-hole marks on the season for the Warriors, having shot a 147 (75-72) at the Northwood Invitational on Sept. 30.
Junior Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.) is in a tie for 22nd place with 154 (78-76), and senior Jacob Abramson (St. Clair, Mich.) is a stroke behind (77-78--155) in a tie for 26th place.
Senior Nathan Johnson (New Boston, Mich.) is tied for 44th place (79-83--162), and senior Chris Hill (Sarnia, Ont./St. Patrick's) is tied for 47th (80-83--163).
The GLIAC Championship, being held at Lake View Country Club in North East, Pa., will conclude on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
