PERRYSBURG, Ohio - The Wayne State men's golf team closed out its fall schedule at the Owens Community College Invitational on Friday, held at Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg, Ohio.

The teams battled winds of up to 30 miles-per-hour and a wind chill of 29 degrees, as well as a bright sun and slick greens. As a result, no one finished with a sub-par score on the afternoon.

The Warriors took second place overall (323), three strokes behind Bowling Green (320). Owens "A" squad came in third (331), followed by Urbana (340), Tiffin (341), and the Owens "B" team (349). Columbus State (352) finished in seventh place and Notre Dame College (356) took eighth.

Brett Hudson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's) finished first out of 53 players, posting a score of 77. Bryan Lynch (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland) was a stroke behind at 78 (T-2nd).

Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) finished with a score of 80 (T-7th), Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Divine Child) shot an 81 (T-10th), and Dave Anderson (Sarnia, Ont./St. Clair Secondary) shot an 84 (T-18th).

Three Warriors - Lance Chamberlain (Allen Park, Mich.), Ben Shunkwiler (Livonia, Mich./Dearborn Crestwood), and Joe Wilson (Trenton, Mich.) - shot an 86 to tie-for-23rd.

Wayne State will begin its spring schedule at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational, March 23-24, 2007.
