Wayne State University men's golf coach Mike Horn announced today the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the upcoming school year. Dave Anderson (Sarnia, Ont./St. Clair S.S.), Bryan Lynch (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland) and Mark McLaughlin (Monroe, Mich.) will join the Warrior golf squad this fall.

Anderson was a 2005 graduate of St. Clair Secondary School. He was a member of the Colts varsity golf squad all four years for coach Jerome Deshiffert. He was the league champion in 2003 and placed second in 2004. Anderson was selected as the team's most valuable player in 2003. He also was a two-time team captain.

Lynch is a 2006 graduate of Lakeland High School. He played three years of varsity golf for the Eagles under coach Vaughn Smith and led the team to an 8-3 record, tying for first in the league, his senior year. His 37.8 scoring average was the lowest in Lakeland history. Lynch earned Division I All-State Honorable Mention honors in 2005. A two-time team captain in both hockey and golf, he was also a member of the National Honor Society and the school's salutatorian.

McLaughlin is a 2006 graduate of Monroe High School. He spent three years on the varsity golf squad under coach Lindsey Blackwell. McLaughlin steadily improved his scoring average each year, culminating with a 37.1 nine-hole average and 76.1 average for 18-hole courses his senior year. He finished 10th at the 2005 state finals (72-73--145) after earning all-league and all-county honors. Mark was named to the Division I All-State Honorable Mention team and was also selected Monroe County Player of the Year. An accomplished pitcher on the Trojans' baseball team, he earned all-conference, all-district, and all-region accolades. McLaughlin served as team captain for golf and baseball his senior year and was a member of the National Honor Society and the academic honor roll.

WSU graduated four letterwinners last month including Jacob Abramson (St. Clair, Mich.), who participated in three NCAA Super Regional tournaments and was named to the All-GLIAC Second Team three of his four seasons. Also completing their eligibility were Chris Hill (Sarnia, Ont./St. Patrick's), Nathan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) and Kevin Zeleji (Southgate, Anderson).

This quartet helped Wayne State record its first-ever GLIAC conference golf title in 2003 and qualify back-to-back years for the NCAA Super Regional.
