Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich./Huron) was named Men's Golfer of the Week by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this week.

Johnson tied-for-second at the Motor City Invitational on Friday, shooting 71 and helping Wayne State take fourth overall. He then won the Bay Valley Intercollegiate later in the weekend by tying his own 36-hole school record of 138 as the Warriors took third.

His first-round score of 67 on Saturday also matched his own single-round mark, and he maintained his lead over the field on Sunday with an even-par 71. His 10 birdies at Bay Valley led the tournament.

Wayne State will play in the GLIAC Championships this Saturday and Sunday at Currie Golf Course in Midland.
