Moon Twp., Pa. - The Wayne State University men's hockey team (0-5-1 overall, 0-2-0 CHA) was held to a single goal for the second straight night and fell 4-1 at Robert Morris (4-2-0 overall, 2-0-0 CHA) in the first games of the College Hockey America league schedule for both teams. This was the third meeting of the young season between the two schools having met in the second round of the Nye Frontier Classic in Anchorage, Alaska earlier this month.

The host Colonials led 1-0 after 20 minutes on a power-play goal by Ryan Cruthers at the 15:58 mark.

WSU responded just 2:57 into the middle stanza on the first collegiate goal by freshman Dylan Exton (Calgary, Alb./Prince George Spruce Kings). Exton's even-strength goal was assisted by a pair of classmates -- defenseman Ryan Adams (Deloraine, Man./Fargo-Moorhead Jets) and forward Tyler Ruel (Port Alberni, Alb./Alberni Valley Bulldogs). The Warriors held a decisive 16-2 advantage in shots on goal in the second period but could only muster the equalizer.

In the third period, RMU scored three times on 10 shots with the lone non-power play goal being the game winner by Brett Hopfe at the 8:25 mark.

Kyle Frieday (9:22) and Chris Margott (16:35) added man-advantage markers to conclude the scoring.

Kyle Funkenhauser (Windsor, Ont./Surrey Eagles) made 18 saves in the Warrior cage, while Christian Boucher stopped 27 Wayne State shots.

WSU is idle next weekend before the home opening weekend on Nov. 9-10 versus Lake Superior.
