Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Wayne State University men's hockey team (1-8-2 overall, 1-3-1 CHA) recorded a 4-3 College Hockey America road victory Friday night at the United States Air Force Academy (2-9-0 overall, 1-2-0 CHA).

The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead late in the opening period with two goals in a span of 2:36. Redshirt sophomore center Mike Forgie (Scarborough, Ont./Stouffville Spirit) netted his third of the season from Nate Higgins (Calgary, Alb./Green Bay Gamblers) at the 15:45 mark.

Sophomore center Stavros Paskaris (Dearborn, Mich./Kewadin Indians) scored his first of the campaign, in just his fifth game of the season, at the 18:21 mark off an assist from Forgie.

The host Falcons cut the WSU lead in half as Eric Ehn scored with 68 seconds remaining in the first period.

Wayne State had a 21-9 advantage in shots on goal during the opening 20 minutes but USAFA netminder Peter Foster made 19 saves to keep the Warrior lead at one.

Air Force tied the game at two on Brian Reese's power-play goal at the 1:39 mark.

The Warriors regained the lead just over three minutes later as freshman wing Jon Grabarek (Sterling Hts., Mich./Cedar Rapids RoughRiders) scored his second goal in as many game, this time on the power play off assists from freshman defenseman Matt Krug (Livonia, Mich./Texas Tornado) and senior forward John May (Livonia, Mich./Springfield Junior Blues).

This lead held up less than three minutes as Ehn scored his second of the contest at the 9:40 mark during a five-on-three Air Force power play.

WSU junior blueliner Dan Iliakis (Scarbrough, Ont./Georgetown Raiders) scored the game-winner with 5:59 left in the middle stanza during a Warrior power play. Grabarek earned an assist for his first career multiple-point game, while May garnered his second helper of the game. It was May's first two-assist and multiple-point game since Jan. 7, 2005, at Alabama-Huntsville.

Wayne State senior goalie Matt Kelly (Hull, Mass./Topeka Scarecrows) made 30 saves, including 13 in a scoreless third period. Foster turned aside 35 WSU shots.

The Warriors were two-for-seven on the power play, with Air Force scoring twice in eight man-advantage opportunities.
