NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - The Wayne State men's hockey team lost its fifth straight game on Saturday night, falling 4-2 at Niagara.

Jason Bloomingburg (Canton, Mich./Texas Tornado) scored his first goal in eight games, on a power play, at 6:45 in the opening period to put the Warriors ahead, 1-0. Nate Higgins (Calgary, Alb./Green Bay Gamblers) and Matt Krug (Livonia, Mich./Texas Tornado) assisted on the play.

The advantage lasted until the 13:16 mark when Ted Cook netted a power-play tally from Vince Rocco and Les Reaney to tie the score at one.

After a scoreless second period, Niagara exploded for three goals within 71 seconds in the final stanza, including another power-play goal along with a short-handed marker.

Tylor Michel (Sudbury, Ont./Owen Sound Saugeen Greys), who previously hadn't found the back of the net since the first game of the season at Minnesota, scored short-handed at 9:35 to narrow the deficit to 4-2, but Wayne State could not pull any closer.

Niagara's Juliano Pagliero made 27 saves for his seventh win of the season. WSU's Will Hooper (Woodbridge, Ont./Wexford Raiders) made 31 saves in the loss.

The Warriors will host Western Michigan at Michigan State Fairgrounds Coliseum next Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7:05 p.m.
