Krug Earns Hockey Commissioners' Association Honor

Wayne State University freshman defenseman Matt Krug (Livonia, Mich./Texas Tornado) has been selected honorable mention national rookie of the month by the Hockey Commissioners' Association.

Krug helped the Warriors compile a 4-2 mark in December including a sweep of Merrimack in their only home games. In the six contests, Krug had seven point on a goal and six assists including three helpers in the overtime win over Merrimack. He was +3 for the month while his lamp-lighter was the game-winning goal versus Western Michigan.

WSU resumes league play at Bemidji State this Friday and Saturday. Wayne State's men's and women's hockey teams will play home doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20-21. The women skate against Rensselaer at 4 p.m. each day, with the men facing Robert Morris at 7:05 p.m. each evening.
