Wayne State freshman forward Jared Katz (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Baystate Breakers) has been named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Week for his performance in last weekend's series against Ferris State.

Katz scored his first career game-winning goal on Friday to give the Warriors a 2-1 victory in overtime. He netted another goal the next night, extending his point scoring streak to five games.
