The Wayne State University men's hockey team earned all three weekly College Hockey America awards following the Warriors sweep of Bemidji State. Senior center Jason Durbin (Trenton, Mich./Danville Wings), senior goaltender David Guerrera (St. Leonard, Que./Estevan Bruins) and freshman defenseman Greg Poupard (Jackson, Mich./Waterloo Black Hawks) were honored by the CHA office.

Durbin, a 5-11, 183-pound native of Trenton, Michigan, had four points (3G, 1A) in WSU's sweep of the Beavers. In Friday's win, he assisted on WSU's second goal which snapped a 1-1 tie. On Saturday, he recorded his second collegiate hat trick (a power-play goal, a short-handed goal and a five-on-five goal). He finished the weekend with a +3 plus/minus rating.

Guerrera, a 5-11, 185-pound native of St. Leonard, Quebec, recorded back-to-back wins against Bemidji State. Both nights WSU fell behind 1-0 but rallied for the victory. On Friday, he stopped 26 of 28 Beaver shots (one goal was a mid-air deflection, the other came on a six-on-five). In Saturday's triumph, Guerrera turned aside 25 of BSU's 26 shots (lone goal was on a power play). For the weekend, he made 51 saves on 54 shots (.944 save percentage).

Poupard, a 6-2, 200-pound native of Jackson, Michigan, was part of the WSU penalty killing unit that stopped 12 of Bemidji's 13 man-advantage chances (92.3% efficiency). The Warrior defense allowed just 54 shots on goal and three goals in the two wins.

Wayne State moved into second place in the CHA standings with the sweep of Bemidji State. The Warriors, with 16 points, trail first place Alabama-Huntsville (9-1-2 for 20 points) by four points. The two squads meet this Saturday and Sunday in Huntsville as WSU begins a four-game road trip. The following weekend, Wayne State visits Niagara for a pair of CHA contests.
