Wayne State senior Dan Iliakis (Scarborough, Ont./Georgetown Raiders) was named to the All-College Hockey America Second Team, becoming the fifth WSU defenseman in history to earn a spot on one of the league's top postseason teams.
Iliakis has a team-high 16 assists this season and is tied-for-fourth on the squad with 20 points. Those two marks, along with his four goals, are career highs and rank in the top 10 all-time for a WSU defenseman in a single season.
Additionally, Iliakis leads the team with six multiple-point games this season and is tied-for-second among league defensemen in points.
He has amassed 53 points in his Wayne State career, ranking him in the top 15 all-time. His 42 career assists ranks seventh, and he is fourth all-time in career points, assists, and goals (11) by a defenseman. He is also the active leader and tied-for-fifth all-time with 136 games played.
Iliakis and the Warriors will face Alabama-Huntsville in the quarterfinals of the CHA Tournament on Friday, March 9, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
