The Wayne State University men¹s hockey team will have all its games from the 2005 College Hockey America league tournament broadcasted on WDTK Radio (1400 AM) with Detroit Red Wings commentator and WSU alum Ken Kal handling the play-by-play duties.
"Post-season college hockey is such a riveting event, that the opportunity to broadcast in that setting will be exciting for our fans and community," said WSU Director of Athletics Rob Fournier. "And to have such a great talent like Ken Kal on the broadcast only elevates that spectacle."
WDTK Radio, the broadcast home of Warrior football and men's basketball, will begin with pre-game coverage of the WSU vs. Air Force CHA quarterfinal contest on Friday, March 11 at 8:20 p.m. Eastern.
On Saturday, March 12, WDTK Radio will broadcast the Wayne State men's basketball NCAA tournament game against SIU-Edwardsville live starting with Matt Williamson's pre-game show at 8:15 p.m.
Should the Warrior men¹s hockey team win on Friday, its semifinal game against Bemidji State will be aired on tape-delayed basis by WDTK immediately following the conclusion of the men's basketball contest.
If both Warrior teams (men's basketball and men's hockey) are victorious on Saturday, the men's basketball game on Sunday will be aired live at 7:30 p.m. followed by the men's hockey contest in the CHA Championship game on a tape-delayed basis. If only men's hockey wins on Saturday, then the CHA Championship game will be aired live at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
All Wayne State games airing on WDTK Radio can also be listened to through the internet at WDTK.
