DETROIT, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's hockey team received high academic progress rate (APR) scores in the National Collegiate Athletic Association report released February 28. The APR is the newly adopted measurement based on academic eligibility, retention, and graduation of student athletes.
The Warriors score of 963 ranked third in College Hockey America and was well above the 925 score minimum. Programs failing to reach the 925 threshold are subject to a penalty after next season.
Men's Hockey score of 968 ranked second behind gymnastics (973) among Division I men's sports.
The NCAA released the results of the APR for all NCAA Division I member institutions based on dated collected from the 2003-04 academic year. The APR is a formula created which represents the eligibility and retention of all student-athletes receiving financial aid.
