WSU Icer Earns Academic All-District Accolade

 
 

 
Will Hooper was named to the Academic All-District First Team.

Wayne State University senior hockey player Will Hooper (Woodbridge, Ont.) has been voted to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV University Division Men's At-Large First Team.

Hooper was in the University Division, which consists of Division I student-athletes, because WSU competes in Division I in ice hockey.

Hooper has a 3.92 in accounting in five semesters at WSU. He attended the University of Findlay for one year before the Oilers dropped hockey.

A three-time College Hockey America All-Academic team selection, Hooper has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (term gpa 3.5+) all five terms at WSU including four 4.00 semesters. He is also a two-time recipient of the squad's President's Award for academic success.

The District IV Academic team was selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) located in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.

The At-Large team represents athletes from the following men's sports: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
