YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Wayne State men's swimming and diving team fell to host Eastern Michigan, 142-93, in a dual meet on Friday evening.

Freshman diver Cayce Bolt (Royal Oak, Mich./Warren Mott) qualified for nationals on both the three-meter (329.55) and one-meter (295.73) boards, while Chris Totten (Garden City, Mich.) also made the cut in the one-meter competition (280.57) as did Dan Fleming (Portage, Mich./Northern) in the three-meter (297.38).

Wayne State took first place in two relays at Eastern, with the quartet of Cauli Bedran (Rio de Janiero, Brazil), Christer Tour (Farsta, Sweden), Bruno Blanco (Rio de Janiero, Brazil), and Tiago Oliveira finishing in a time of 1:32.95 in the 200 medley relay. The Warriors also won the 200 free relay with Oliveira, Bedran, Luiz Pacheco (Curitiba, Brazil), and Blanco.

Oliveira's leadoff time of 21.24 also earned him a national "B" qualifier.

Guilherme Veiga (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) finished second in the 1000 free (9:35.42), and James Ekleberry (Rochester Hills, Mich./Avondale) took fourth place (10:12.94). Veiga also finished third in the 500 free (4:39.41).

Jared Troyer (Portage, Mich./Central) came in third in the 200 fly (1:58.95), and Oliveira placed second in the 100 free (46.73), earning an NCAA "B" cut, with Per Bergstrom (Fagersta, Sweden) not far behind in fourth (47.93).

Pacheco and Matt Leix (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) took third (1:59.77) and fourth (1:59.95), respectively, in the 200 backstroke.

Wayne State will host Ashland on Feb. 2, its final competition until the GLIAC Championship, hosted by Ashland on Feb. 21-24.
