ASHLAND, Ohio - The Warrior men's swimming and diving team won its third straight dual meet on Friday, earning a 127-68 victory at GLIAC opponent Ashland.
Wayne State won the first nine events to seal the win, beginning with the 200 medley relay team of Luiz Pacheco (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Expoente), Mathias Isaksson (Vasteras, Sweden/Alleskolan), Jared Troyer (Portage, Mich./Central), and Tim Giblin (Midland, Mich./Dow).
The Warriors took the top-two places in six of the first seven individual events: Guilherme Veiga (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) and Nick Ingrao (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) in the 1000 free, Nick Markou (Canton, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) and Sebastian Rzepa (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) in the 200 free, Bruno Blanco (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Princesa Isabel) and Per Bergstrom (Fagersta, Sweden/Alleskolau) in the 50 free, A.J. Erard (Troy, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) and Troyer in the 400 IM, Bergstrom and Troyer in the 100 fly, and Pacheco and Matt Leix in the 100 back.
Blanco also won the 100 free, and three Warriors (Veiga, Ingrao, Markou) swept the 500 free.
Wayne State concludes the regular season on Saturday, Jan. 28, with a home meet against GLIAC foe Gannon.
