MARQUETTE, Mich. - Through two days of competition, the WSU men's swimming and diving team remains in first place at the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Northern Michigan.

The Warriors have 319 points heading into Friday's prelims, ahead of Indianapolis (273), Grand Valley State (212), Gannon (186), Ashland (147), Lewis (147), and Findlay (104).

Junior diver Dan Fleming placed third in the one-meter competition with a score of 365.75 in Thursday's finals.

The quartet of Tim Giblin, Bruno Blanco, Per Bergstrom, and Luiz Pacheco took second place in the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:26.08

Nick Markou earned an NCAA "B" qualifier with his victory in the 500 free (4:38.72). Nick Ingrao and Guilherme Veiga finished third (4:39.09) and fourth (4:39.40), respectively, and Sebastian Rzepa took sixth place.

A.J. Erard set a new pool record and earned an NCAA "B" qualifier in the 200 IM, winning the event with a time of 1:53.51. Mathias Isaksson came in fourth (1:54.99).

Blanco finished seventh in the 50 free (21.86), while Bergstrom finished eighth (21.86) and Giblin ninth (21.98).

The 400 medley relay team of Pacheco, Isaksson, Blanco, and Bergstrom placed third with a time of 3:26.53.

The Warriors will look to maintain their lead heading into Friday's prelims.
