INDIANAPOLIS - The WSU men's swimming team slipped to eighth place after the second day of the 2006 NCAA Division II Championships being held at the IUPUI Natatorium. Wayne State has 123 points through 20 events.

Two Warriors took home All-America honors in the 400 IM as sophomore A.J. Erard (Troy, Mich./Univ. of Detroit Jesuit) earned First Team All-America honors with a third-place finish in 4:02.79. Junior Jared Troyer (Portage, Mich./Central) was 11th in the "B" final to pick up Honorable Mention All-America status in a time of 4:04.16. The top eight place-winners earn First Team All-America while 9-16 earn Honorable Mention All-America.

Bruno Blanco (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Princesa Isabel) swam to an eighth-place finish in the 100 fly (50.48) to gain a First Team All-America award.

The 400-yard Medley relay team of Luiz Pacheco (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Expoente), Mathias Isaksson (Vasteras, Sweden/Alleskolan), Blanco and Tim Giblin (Midland, Mich./Midland Dow) placed eighth in a time of 3:25.83, picking up 22 team points. The 200 freestyle relay team (Giblin, Blanco, Pacheco and Isaksson) placed 14th in a time of 1:25.46.
