INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the second straight year, the Wayne State men's swimming team finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Division II Championships. The Warriors placed sixth overall, their highest-ever D-II finish, and set a school record with 207 points.

Four Warriors placed among the top 12 in the 1650 free final and won All-America accolades. Nick Ingrao (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) finished in fifth place with a time of 15:49.32, and Guilherme Veiga (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) took eighth place in 15:55.72. Both swimmers earned a spot on the All-America First Team with their efforts. Jared Troyer (Portage, Mich./Central) finished 10th in 16:03.61, and Nick Markou (Canton, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) swam a time of 16:05.99 for 12th place, with both earning Honorable Mentions.

Mathias Isaksson (Vasteras, Sweden/Alleskolan) earned All-America First Team honors with his eighth-place swim of 2:07.19 in the 200 breast. A.J. Erard (Troy, Mich./Univ. of Detroit Jesuit) took 14th place in 2:08.51, garnering an Honorable Mention.

The 400 free relay team of Bruno Blanco (Rio de Janero, Brazil/Princesa Isabel), Tim Giblin (Midland, Mich./Midland Dow), Luiz Pacheco (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Expoente), and Isaksson finished in 15th with a time of 3:08.29, just .07 seconds off their WSU record-setting pace from the preliminary swim earlier today.
