ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Wayne State men's swimming and diving team competed in the Oakland University Tri-Meet on Friday.
The Warriors suffered setbacks to the host Grizzlies (138-100) and the University of Cincinnati (121-110).
Guilherme Veiga (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) took two first-place finishes, leading the field in the 1000 free (9:38.37) and the 500 free (4:42.83).
Jared Troyer (Portage, Mich./Central) finished third in the 1000 free (9:54.10) and the 200 fly (1:58.87).
Tim Giblin (Midland, Mich./Midland Dow) and Cauli Bedran (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Sao Vicente de Paulo) finished second (21.50) and third (21.68), respectively, in the 50 free, and A.J. Erard (Troy, Mich./Royal Oak Shrine) took third in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.10).
The Warriors 400 free relay combination of Bedran, Per Bergstrom (Fagersta, Sweden/Alleskolau), Alex Davidson (Napoleon, Mich./Jackson), and Giblin finished in first place (3:10.72).
Wayne State will compete at Indianapolis on Saturday, Nov. 11.
