Wayne State freshman Christer Tour (Farsta, Sweden) has been named the GLIAC Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Warriors' 127-95 dual-meet victory over Ashland on Feb. 2.

Tour swam the breaststroke leg (25.39) in the Warriors' school record-setting 200-yard medley relay, which finished in first place with a time of 1:32.39. The foursome topped a prior school record and NCAA "A" cut set earlier this season.

He also led the pack in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:06.00, missing an NCAA "A" cut by .01 seconds.

Wayne State will look to defend its conference title at the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Ashland, on Feb. 21-24.
